General affairs

The mission of general affairs is to provide the best possible support of daily operations. General affairs has several responsibilities. They handle the policy and its implementation. Within the department we have the following fields of expertise:

  • Finances
  • ICT
  • Communication
  • HR
  • Facility Management
  • Projects

General Affairs is a very diverse department. However, all your colleagues have one thing in common and that is an attitude of service to support the other ‘core’ departments.

You work at the department with experienced experts as well as with junior colleagues. We think it is very important to give young talents good opportunities and to help them in their first steps in the field.

The combination of fresh new insights and work experience make the department flexible. General Affairs is moving and in this way supports the other core departments optimal. Together, we ensure that we can carry out the mission of ASTRON.

You will be working in one of the above fields. As an employee of general affairs you give advice and you support our three other departments: Astronomy Group, Research & Development and the Radio Observatory. You will interact with colleagues from every department.
